My father was admitted with a history of a heart attack, GI bleed, MRSA, and CHF - the staff at DMH were great, however, one nurse was extraordinary and went above and beyond his critical thinking skills as an RN. Mark noticed that my father had worsened at one point with having an increased core temperature and labored breathing. Mark was quick-acting, contacting the doctor and getting meds onboard quickly which helped my father's condition.
Not only is Mark an incredible nurse, but he is also an excellent communicator. He was always personable and willing to speak to the family regarding my father's status.
Mark also phoned my mother one morning, as she was running behind, to ensure my father's meal had been ordered. Very caring nurse!
Mark's compassion for patients and family, as well as his critical thinking skills, is why I believe he is a DAISY Nurse! He is a nurse for all to strive to be and a great role model!
