They are a remarkable and expert Nurse. The bedside calls them often to assist with high acuity patients; they volunteer to teach CRRT. An extraordinary event happened to a patient at SMH. This patient was bleeding on pressors. This patient needed a rare type of blood. They requested permission to go to the blood bank and donate blood; in addition to that, they picked up their sister, and both of them donated. They are HEROES. We are forever grateful for their kindness and their ability to go the extra mile for our patients. This very critical patient was able to improve and continue to enjoy life with his family.
