This is an act that the family will always remember, and I am sure they will forever be grateful to be given the opportunity to see their babies together.
R was born and was transferred to CHP, shortly after birth, due to Pentalogy of Cantrell. Sadly, R passed away the following day at CHP while her twin sister was still at MWH NICU, and her mother was still admitted to MWH. R’s parents wished to have R brought to MWH to be able to take pictures of the twins together and to partake in memory-making activities. After R passed, Marlana escorted her to MWH to grant this wish for the family. This is an act that the family will always remember, and I am sure they will forever be grateful to be given the opportunity to see their babies together.

I am certain that this was very difficult for Marlana and will be something that will stick with her forever. I can only hope that she realizes what a wonderful and selfless thing she did for this family. In their grief, recognizing Marlana may not be at the forefront of their minds, but Marlana deserves recognition for the strength she demonstrated and the care she provided to R and her family.
