Because of Marlayna, we felt supported not only physically, but emotionally and mentally during one of the most vulnerable times of our lives.
I would like to recognize Marlayna Miller for the exceptional care, advocacy, and compassion she provided to my wife and our family throughout our recent hospital stay before and after the delivery of our son.
Both my wife and I are nurses, so we understand firsthand the complexity of healthcare, the pressures placed on staff, and the difference that truly exceptional nursing care can make. Because of that background, we were especially aware of the uncertainty surrounding our situation and the importance of clear communication, strong advocacy, and compassionate presence. Marlayna exceeded every expectation we had, not only as patients and family members, but as fellow professionals.
From the very beginning, our experience was filled with uncertainty and unexpected turns. During that time, Marlayna was a constant source of calm, reassurance, and strength. She handled every change in my wife’s condition with confidence and grace, even when outcomes were unclear, and consistently took the time to explain what was happening, what we could expect, and what options were available. Her ability to navigate uncertainty while keeping us informed and supported made an overwhelming and scary time feel much more manageable.
What truly set Marlayna apart was how she advocated for my wife. She listened carefully to my wife’s concerns, validated her feelings, and ensured her voice was heard by everyone caring for her. She never made us feel rushed or dismissed and went above and beyond to make sure our questions were answered and our needs were met.
Beyond providing excellent clinical care, Marlayna cared for us as people, not just patients. She recognized the emotional weight of the situation and took intentional moments to check in, offer reassurance, and provide comfort to both my wife and me.
