Marlene has been a steadfast presence on 5SE for more than twenty years. She is a kind, caring, compassionate nurse, who enjoys finding a connection with each of her patients.
Marlene establishes a rapport with her patients and is able to connect with them on a uniquely personal level. Marlene has made one such connection with a patient on 5SE who shares the same faith as her. Marlene spends time after her shift is over visiting and praying with the patient. The extra time she takes connecting on a spiritual level serves as a source of meaning for him as an act of kindness and compassion in what can sometimes be a sterile environment.
Marlene is an exceptional leader on night shift and has been a preceptor for many of our new nurses on 5SE. She is a phenomenal resource and puts staff at ease with her presence. We all know she has our back when she is here. It is an honor to work by her side on 5SE!
