I noticed how Marlene was checking all my son's wires and singing to him while patting him.
My son was born in June and it has been a roller-coaster of emotions. Last week I left home (6 hours away) to pick up my husband and daughter. While shift change was happening I noticed how Marlene was checking all my son's wires and singing to him while patting him. I was extremely anxious about leaving him for the first time and night ever. However, after seeing what a great job Marlene did with our son I was able to sleep through the night and not be anxious. Marlene has been our nurse for the last 4 nights and will be coming back tonight. She has worked more than she needed and always goes the extra mile for our sweetheart warrior. My son had open heart surgery Tuesday and we had an extremely rocky night. However, she made me feel at ease knowing she was watching him. She shows she cares about her patients.
Not only does she care about her patients but she asks me how I’m doing and if I would need or like anything. She makes me feel at ease when I feel like my whole world is crumbling down. I am so thankful and blessed she’s been with my son these past nights. Marlene goes above and beyond for our baby boy and her hard work and love for her patients shouldn’t go unnoticed!
