Just recently, a former patient returned after discharge to deliver a special appreciation book, specifically recognizing Marlin’s exceptional care on one of its pages. Her commitment to our team and her patients is truly remarkable.

Last month, when we were critically understaffed due to multiple sick leaves on a night shift, Marlin was our last hope. Having just completed two consecutive night shifts herself, she was likely exhausted and in need of rest. Yet, when asked—only an hour and a half before the shift—Marlin agreed without hesitation to work a third night shift. Her willingness to step up under such circumstances exemplifies her selflessness and commitment. When I checked in on her later that night, she simply said that she couldn’t bear to think of what might happen to our patients or her fellow nurses if she hadn’t come in.

This level of empathy and teamwork is truly inspiring. Marlin’s dedication makes a difference every day, and I feel incredibly grateful to work alongside someone so selfless and compassionate. This nomination for the DAISY Award is my heartfelt way of saying thank you for her unwavering commitment and extraordinary heart. She is genuinely deserving of this honor.
