My niece, P, came to the hospital in the middle of the night with false labor and Marlo, even though she knew it was false the whole time, was so encouraging. When we came back 8 hours later there was a different set of nurses, who were all very nice and efficient, but the news was dishearting, still false labor! When Marlo came back at 7 pm, she breezed into the room with an infectious laugh and words to inspire not only P but the rest of us too. After 36 hours of "false" labor, two trips from out of town, and no sleep for anybody, it was just what we needed. At about 11:30 pm, the decision was made to induce, but P began to panic from stress and fatigue. Marlo laid her hand on P and gave her a calm, reassuring little talk and within 2 minutes, all was well with the world. Thank you for making this confusing, scary time for these first-time parents not so terrifying. Marlo, you are awesome!
