Marlon is outstanding as both a nurse and a person. No matter how he might be feeling himself, he was always cheery and willing to help even with little things where most nurses would have called an aide. He would show up just when some aide needed another strong arm, for example. I especially remember one night during a snowstorm when just about everyone else on the floor had called in and he only had one aide to help him. That night, he put my urine catheter in and out twice, brought me warmed blankets, dumped the trash and did everyone else’s job with no complaints. As he left that morning, he pulled a rose from a vase of flowers on my windowsill and handed it to me. He and I worked through several trials to get rid of that catheter. I told him that he was an expert at catheters and he said “No, I am an expert nurse.” And that he was!
