LT Paraiso has the natural ability to make anyone and everyone feel valuable, heard, and respected. These core personality traits make him an invaluable leader.
I would like to nominate LT Marrionray Paraiso for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. I have worked with LT Paraiso for almost a year now, and I can confidently say that he stands out from all the other AD personnel I work with. He currently works as both an OR nurse and the DIVO in the General Surgery Clinic. Despite the demanding nature of both roles, he continues to demonstrate impeccable leadership skills that undoubtedly lead to increased patient satisfaction as well as increased staff morale. His excellent leadership and mentorship skills are reflected in the corpsmen in the General Surgery Clinic, whom I have seen continue to grow and progress in their early careers. LT Paraiso has also spent his own money providing supplies to the PACU to create the amazing origami crane display that we have now. The origami crane display has gotten numerous compliments from patients waking up from surgery, and per patients, those crane displays have made their experience more pleasant. Finally, amongst his peers, LT Paraiso stands out as one who is ready to step in when he is assigned as duty nurse, to take over patient care when the civilian nurses need to leave for their shift. LT Paraiso has the natural ability to make anyone and everyone feel valuable, heard, and respected. These core personality traits make him an invaluable leader. He puts 110% in everything he does, and his contributions to the organization cannot be overlooked. I wholeheartedly believe he deserves the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
