Nurse Marsha made some calls and got us the answer we needed before we left, she took that burden off of our shoulders.
There are times when what others consider a small act, makes a significant impact for others. My mother was being discharged from Cox Medical Center in Branson to go into the hospice palliative care program at home. She is on blood thinning meds and has a paracentesis scheduled in two days after release. There was a new medicine and confusion for us over whether she should start taking it or wait until after the procedure. Prior to her hospital stay, we had been calling the Doctor’s office, leaving messages, and then waiting for a call back for days and this had become a very frustrating and long process. Before discharge, we really needed an answer from them. Nurse Marsha made some calls and got us the answer we needed before we left, she took that burden off of our shoulders. This was one less thing for us to worry about and gave us a huge relief. For us this was a difficult time, tho it seemed small to her it was very significant and an act of kindness and professionalism. Thank you, Nurse Marsha!
