I am nominating Marsha because she demonstrates the qualities of a professional, compassionate nurse daily. Marsha’s role is to aid women during one of the most challenging times of their life. As the Nurse Navigator dedicated to breast health Marsha encounters women and their families and guides them through diagnosis, treatment options and support systems. She identifies needs the patient has and helps provide them with clear concise information to aid in life changing decision making. Daily Marsha aids patients with physical care. She mentors, supports, hand holds . She is always challenged by the daily needs of patients. I have seen Marsh aid families with daily life skills, helping in resource management and simply being a friend when needed. She has been able to find resources where patients were directed by others there were none. I personally have been impressed with Marsha’s compassion and dignity for the patients. Regardless of who they are, their life circumstance or the environment Marsha continues to deliver optimal care to each individual patient centered to their specific needs. She demonstrates patient and family centered care, compassion, and excellence in practice as a professional nurse. I believe she is deserving of the DAISY Award.
