Marta was nominated by a colleague as she went above and beyond and provided cultural food for her patient who did not have a support system outside the facility, after receiving an order from the physician to provide food for the patient. This garnered improved trust between caregiver and patient as Marta was able to initiate a personal connection for the patient. The patient, in turn, started to trust his caregivers more on a daily basis, became more compliant with procedures, and was able to be discharged safely to disposition - and it all started with Marta's efforts.
