I was a patient at NMC overnight following a hysterectomy. Martha was my 'day nurse' immediately following my surgery. She was a true professional with an amazingly caring bedside manner. Martha walked with me down the hall, and we visited about our families. She made me feel like she had all the time in the world for me, though I know she had to be busy with other patients, too. She made eye contact with me and held both of my hands in hers as she said a sweet goodbye at shift change. I am very grateful for Martha's care and wish her the best! I was hospitalized for an emergency surgery, and Martha took excellent care of me in the surgical unit. She was so thoughtful and considerate, and she knew exactly what I might need before I even had time to think of it. Martha made sure I was as comfortable as possible as I recovered. I could tell that she sincerely cared about my well-being, and I was very grateful to have her as my nurse. Martha does not cut corners. She is accurate and accountable at all times. When some employees may not feel like showing up at their job, she can always be counted on to be faithful! She is diligent and precise in ensuring everything is done at the right time and in the right way. She’s caring and thoughtful and puts the patient’s safety first at all times because of her amazing integrity!
