My son, W, was a previous patient and was extremely nervous about the IV for his procedure. As much as I tried to calm him down, nothing would take away his anxiety until Ms. Martha entered his room. She exudes compassion and care. Martha and the MD helped to alleviate as much anxiety as possible by administering vallum and topical numbing cream. Once W saw the measures taken to make him comfortable, he was able to relax. Martha remembered his last procedure and that was also calming for W, that he is not just a number. Martha's presence in pre-op is invaluable. She is a real asset to Ochsner.
