Martha Wheaton, RN in our Labor & Delivery was nominated by a physician colleague who nominated her for being "calm and comforting" to a patient who lost an extremely pre-term baby.
According to the physician, Martha connected with and comforted the family by taking the time to speak with them about their loss. She also brought them a memory box where she placed the baby's hand and footprint.
"She exemplifies professionalism, compassion and what it is to be an excellent nurse," the physician wrote.
