I've been in the hospital for three days waiting for my lovely girl to arrive when I was introduced to my new nurse Marti. First off, I love her name. Second, she was so kind and patient with me, giving me information and was very supportive through my care. I really appreciate her calm, funny personality, especially when I felt this wait was never going to end. She's amazing!

Marti went above and beyond by continually checking on us while at the same time respecting our privacy. She would always ask us if we needed anything and almost always provided us with what we did need without needing to be asked. She said she would be calling on her day off to be sure our baby was gaining weight since she had lost substantial weight after being born. All the employees were great but Marti was exceptional!

After my C-section, I remember awakening to pain, fear, stress and confusion, among many other emotions. Marti was by my side constantly. She was so nurturing and caring. I felt like I had a family member with me. We shared personal stories and got to know each other on a level I would never have expected. She explained everything that had, was and would happen to me from the surgery to everyday life. She was so encouraging and I felt like I could actually conquer the obstacles of recovery in my way. Even when I tried and failed challenges, she kept me positive. She completely devoted herself to me on her shift. I could feel the sincere love and compassion she had for my son and me. When her shift was over, I was actually sad she had to leave! She returned to work the day we were released and I was so happy to see her again, but also saddened again that we had to part! I will never forget her and am very lucky to have had such a great caregiver.
