I request Nurse Martin Bush be “mugged” (a way that the police department recognize each other) for his expedient response to an injury roll over crash. Bush witnessed the crash while he was driving. He immediately provided essential medical first response care by rushing to the driver and applied direct pressure to a severed temporal artery and stabilized the injured drivers head and neck. Without these quick actions it is possible that the driver may have received a paralyzing or mortal injury due to the driver’s neck being broken at multiple levels.
Bush’s outstanding call for first response duty and exceptional immediate response brings great credit upon himself, KRMC Nurse staff, and the first responder community.
