I have to say, if there is a nurse so far in my life that has gone way beyond my expectations, it was Martina. She is a great example of how a nurse is a patient's advocate. She was here to help me, and she meant it.
Being a nurse is more than a job or career. For me, a nurse is a person that feels like the patient feels and acts with caring, love, and compassion to help. She was all of that. I can't stress enough how I felt so blessed to have her as MY nurse. I was transferred from another hospital, from a horrible experience to her. She was able to get me all I needed to take care of my horrible pain. She called doctors to accelerate the process of even trying to get help for my meds that I take on a regular basis, that I was off of while at the other hospital.
Martina, thank you! With you around, we patients have faith that good people and good nurses still exist and love the work they do. You are leaving a legacy for years to come. I appreciate you a lot!
