Martine is a wonderful asset to the Cardiac floor. She comes to work every day and greets everyone with a "good morning" and a smile. Her positive attitude makes the unit feel energized. You cannot help but smile when she kindly acknowledges you, whether it's "Hey, parent of a warrior" or if she asks you how your morning or day is going. She is willing to actively listen and offer comfort during those rough days. She makes a kind effort to approach you with a simple and pleasant compliment that can change the course of your day. Her presence gives the unit comfort and puts a smile on your face. She is cognizant of her surroundings and offers help or even just does the task in need without request. Her kind words are valuable and extensive. Martine is an excellent example of a DAISY Nurse. It is my pleasure to nominate such a beautiful soul who can be a model to all nurses of what a DAISY Nurse is. Martine is a rare combination of being an excellent nurse and a genuinely funny person. She always has a good word and a big smile for everyone she works with, and her pleasant demeanor makes things better. She never complains and does her work with compassion and sensitivity. As a parent, I appreciate her kindness, professionalism, and compassion.
