Martine had so many other patients to care for, but she made me feel that I am the only one that mattered.
I just want to take a moment to thank my nurse, Martine. As the Covid-19 pandemic strike again, being hospitalized at this time was so scary and difficult for me since I'm 80 years old and immunocompromised. Coming to the hospital for a biopsy made me wonder if I will ever return to my beautiful home and family.
Waiting for discharge seemed to be an endless hour and nothing could be fast enough. Martine had so many other patients to care for, but she made me feel that I am the only one that mattered. She sat at my bedside and looked at me in my eyes when we spoke. She complimented on good things so I will not ponder waiting for hours for transport. She helped me understand that even though this may be a crisis for me, I am better off than many and that she made sure to get me home safe and sound.
Martine and Booker 3 team, I may have not told you or didn't get the chance to say it but thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for all that you do for your cancer patients, the community, and an anxious old lady like me. I appreciate you!
