Marvin is one of the most extraordinary nurses I have had the privilege of working with. Marvin consistently goes above and beyond for each and every one of his patients and families. Marvin can routinely be found helping his coworkers or playing with his patients to make them feel special.
What I appreciate most about Marvin is his compassion for those he cares for. Inpatient Rehab is an emotional place to work. We frequently see patients at the lowest place in their lives, commonly having experienced a massive trauma. Marvin is quick to build relationships, and many patients deem him to be their favorite nurse. Marvin makes awful and painful tasks fun, and he has a special way of connecting with patients and families.
Marvin is an extremely safe nurse because he is never afraid to ask a question. I greatly appreciate Marvin's willingness to put himself on the spot and ask for guidance when he is unsure of a procedure, medication, or has an instinctual feeling that something is wrong. Marvin is a thoughtful individual, and he spends time working through problems with his patients. He genuinely attempts to include patients and families in the care he completes to empower and teach for better outcomes when discharge occurs.
Marvin, the Rehab unit is extremely lucky to have you as a member of our team. You are valued for your uniqueness, and your desire to make the lives of those you work with better shines through daily.
