As the challenges of healthcare continue to grow more complex than ever, nurse leader demands continue to increase. Despite these demands, Mary continues to provide exemplary leadership to all nurses and other staff, inspire our team, and show nursing is a fulfilling discipline full of compassion and respect to the human being.
Mary embodies our PETALS criteria. She is passionate about nursing (she eats and breathes nursing). She shows empathy to our patient/resident populations, staff, and physicians. She is a trusted leader and who advocates for teamwork. Her qualities as a leader are admired by her staff, colleagues, and are a beacon for others to emulate. She has vast knowledge and experience in nursing that shows the love in our profession. Finally, she is the most selfless individual I know.
Mary gives to the profession, to the organization, colleagues, and staff, and most importantly, to all her patients. She is the first one at the hospital and the last to leave. Alta License is proud to honor our first recipient of The DAISY Nurse Leader Award - Mary Aclan, Associate Chief Nurse Officer.
