As a travel nurse I have worked many floors and with different types of teamwork. I had the pleasure of working with Mary Alonso. She was charge nurse on a very busy floor. I am very new, and discharges take me longer than they should so far. Mary helped me manage the high turnover of patients by paging doctors, and answering patients' questions, taking report, covering my patients when I finally took a break at 5 PM, medicating patients, and overall having a great attitude and answering all my questions. Mary is a great charge nurse; stays calm and is very helpful! This is the first DAISY nomination I have ever filled out through 5 years of nursing. Mary made such an impression on me that I felt I had to acknowledge her.
