Anna stayed in the room with the consult team for the entire family discussion and helped provide further clarification and emotional support to the patient and her family afterward.
Anna is not only always helping her co-workers, but she is an awesome nurse to her patients. Today, Anna had a patient discharged with glioblastoma. She took a considerable amount of time out of her day to sit with this patient, hold their hand and explain everything to the patient. It is an honor to work with and learn from Anna.

I want to share a wonderful patient care experience with Anna Eastman. The doctor had an extensive discussion with a patient and her family regarding a newly diagnosed high-grade glioblastoma. Anna stayed in the room with the consult team for the entire family discussion and helped provide further clarification and emotional support to the patient and her family afterward. She also took time and effort to reach the physician with oversight of the fellow, to make sure she knew that the family received extraordinary care from the doctor and stated that she wished we had more physicians like him.

Anna is a shining example of our amazing nursing staff. She is wonderful in her direct patient care and support of patients and their families. More uniquely, she went the extra mile to help support the multidisciplinary patient care that is often needed as well as to help recognize and encourage the contributions of one of our trainees. She exemplifies our mission in providing world-class compassionate healthcare and supporting the education of healthcare professionals as well as supporting our Magnet Model culture by her exemplary professional practice.

Nurse Anna was exceptional in caring for me during my hospital stay after surgery. Having brain surgery was scary enough, let alone during the time of COVID. From day 1 she went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. My roommate was always cold, and I was always hot, so Nurse Anna brought me my own personal fan to be comfortable. My husband had limited visits with me (COVID visiting policies), and Nurse Anna was in constant communication with him about how I was doing and what he could do to help. She showed a genuine interest in me and my family, and truly cared about getting me back home and healing well. She even explained to another staff member the importance of a religious item I was wearing, and why I shouldn’t take it off. This was incredibly kind as I was having some struggles during that time with communication (I was extremely fatigued and still foggy from pain meds). Every day she came in to start her shift, I was immediately calmed knowing she was taking care of me. Her warmth and compassion were unmatched, and I am so thankful for her care!
