I chose Mary Anne Montegrico for these reasons: Good common-sense approach to patient care, excellent care, and compassion. She listened to all my needs during my stay and proceeded to take care of them right away. I am an older nurse of 48 years and have worked with many nurses over the years. You must have "passion" in your work, I tell her, and a big thank you to Mary Anne who is truly passionate about her work.
You can always continue to learn, and your patients can be a great lesson to learn from. These traits: loyalty, compassion, and quality of care, must be extended to your patients. Values I learned long ago but do not always see today, Mary Anne believes in.
My hope is that Mary Anne is recognized as she truly has a passion for nursing and instills these values to her medical family. She is what I call a nurse's nurse. As a patient, when you look up, you would like to see her.
