This is how patients have described Mary Barker: "A wonderful nurse, always very kind and caring. She called me at home to make sure I was ok. She made my last day of chemo very special and still calls to check on me. A great nurse! She makes my mood and the whole day better!"
Family comments include, "She always took time with my fiancé who is a cancer patient. Even when not assigned to him, she would say hello and check to see how he was feeling."
Co-workers have also added these comments. "She went to CVS to pick up a prescription when the patient didn't have a way to get it. One Saturday she came in to give an antibiotic infusion. When completed she discharged the patient who went out to meet their ride home. She proceeded to clean up the department, finish paperwork and lock up the department prior to leaving. When she left she discovered the patient was still waiting for their ride home. She waited with the patient for a while and when the ride did not show, she offered the patient a ride home to get them out of the sun."
