My husband was in for his yearly appointment. Mary Beth was taking his vitals and somehow realized to do an EKG right then. She went to the doctor with information taken. After this and medications sent, my husband went back to the VA since he did not take his medications and wanted another EKG. He was in disbelief that he had Afib. He called his medication "rat poison" and was in denial and stubborn.
Thank you to Mary Beth for her quick response to a situation unexpected. She displayed a calm attitude and patience since explaining Afib all over again to him. She was respectful to him even though he was headstrong. Her communication skills were great since she made him question her about the medication and Afib and listened to his concerns for a second time. We feel she went above and beyond with her empathy. Thank you, Mary Beth, for being an outstanding nurse and special to us.
