When I was admitted to the hospital on Easter weekend I was nervous. I was bleeding a lot (hemoglobin 8) and it was the first Easter not being with family. This was my first time being admitted to a hospital and I had 4 blood transfusions, I was scared. My nurse Mary brought something special to the room and it was her radiant and beautiful personality that literally lit up my room. I was no longer afraid. Her smile and personality was something I haven't seen. I work here at TMMC and my expectations for nurses is high, not just their knowledge but how they treat others. Mary brings not only her knowledge but her compassion, empathy, and heart. When my family would visit I introduced her to them because I felt she became my family during my Easter here in the hospital with her. She communicated with my family like she knew them forever. My friend brought poke and we asked her to eat with us, she agreed. I felt I didn't miss Easter with my family because I felt I was with family. She is such an angel who brings so much when she walks in the room. Mary, "The Reason Is You"!
