Mary Broussard, RN

Mary embodies all the best characteristics you want in your nurse: smart, great critical thinking skills, compassion, humor, humility, and enthusiasm. She treats everyone with respect and patience no matter how her shift is going, and she keeps her humor and empathy under stress, which not all can do. HRO behaviors come naturally to her. She has a respectful questioning mindset and asks clarifying questions, which helps me practice the same behaviors. Mary doesn't take issue with the person; she addresses issues with the process and readily offers her own solutions. I have watched Mary grow as a bedside nurse and as a charge nurse. Mary is a benchmark we all can aspire to!
