The DAISY in Training Award is presented to a NKU nursing student who has demonstrated the values of caring, professionalism, respect, integrity and excellence.  This year?s recipient is Mary Bunzel.  Mary is a second semester nursing student and currently works as a PCA at St. Elizabeth Healthcare on a medical-surgical floor.  Mary was nominated by a previous clinical instructor as well as by several coworkers from St. Elizabeth Healthcare.  Mary?s Clinical Instructor described her as respectful, gentle, and always willing to go that extra mile for her patients.  Mary?s team leader at St. Elizabeth Healthcare summed it up best when she wrote the following about Mary:  ?I always look forward to working with Mary because I know our patients will receive excellent care.  Mary is caring and compassionate to her patients and their families.  She is always willing to help out her coworkers.  Mary is going to be an awesome nurse.  I look forward to her completing nursing school and watching her grow as an RN.  Hopefully, Mary will decide to stay here at St. Elizabeth to work with us.  We would love for her to be a part of our nursing team.?
