Mary went out of her way to care for me. My belongings were lost and she searched so hard to locate them and I could tell she truly cared about it even though some would say it was just a shirt. She understood how much it meant to me. She took the time to listen to me complain and showed so much compassion that I couldn't believe it. She is just such a nice person. She is truly a gem. I was in a lot of pain from mobility issues and I had cellulitis and severe edema. She would take the time to address my pain and make sure I was comfortable and checking if there was anything I needed.
I was told about this award and I researched what it was about. I too have an auto-immune disorder. I have Lupus. So it really touched me that they have this recognition for the caregiver staff to motivate them and also to praise them for a job well done. She is an amazing, compassionate, sweetheart of a nurse and I hope if I ever come back I have her again. I would also like to note that I myself was a nurse for 20 years prior to being disabled. I am not one to compliment so if I do, it is a big thing!
