There is an extraordinary nurse in our organization who often goes unnoticed. Not only does she serve on multiple committees, she is the first to help out a co-worker and cover their shift in emergencies. She is always going above and beyond.
On a snowy night, she stepped up once again. A patient came in through the ED as a STEMI and ended up on a balloon pump. This patient was to be transported. However, the transport ambulance was stuck with bad weather over the bridge and would not be able to make it. An Anne Arundel County Ambo team was willing to take the patient but a nurse would also be needed. Mary did not hesitate and went with the team to assist with the transportation of this patient. I'm not sure of the outcome of the patient but I wanted to recognize Mary for her outstanding compassion, teamwork, bravery, and commitment to this organization and our community. She is such a great person to work with and she has the best laugh of anyone that I know.
