Extraordinary describes Nurse Mary Degenhart. Having sustained major and potentially life threatening injuries, my father-in-law found himself under the care of Mary. Having introduced myself only once, she remembered my name. She took the time to learn the history of her patient-the man we know as "Dad". She explained the purpose of each piece of equipment that kept Dad alive and in layman's terms-spelled out his exact condition. She advised us of what to expect down the road and was very honest. If given the choice of nurses-I would have chosen Mary. Turns out Dad got her anyway! I am quite certain Mary is the most care/polite/ professional medical professional I have ever met and I've known many!
