Mary does exemplary nursing every day. Even though her shift had ended, Mary went to the cardiac catheterization lab with a patient whose wife had not arrived prior to the patient’s procedure. The patient knew the test was very important to his care but was concerned that his wife was not there. Mary told him that she would go with him and that she would wait until his wife arrived. The patient was very grateful and felt comfortable that Mary stayed with him and his wife during and after the procedure. Mary listens to patients and always acts on their concerns.
