Mary "Emily" Britt, RN
I would like to nominate Mary "Emily" Britt, RN, for the DAISY Award. Emily works as a triage RN at Internal Medicine Associates North. Emily showed significant kindness and compassion when helping me with a patient last week. She went above and beyond helping an elderly patient of mine, who is unable to read, and who was very confused, work through new medication changes.
She spent a significant amount of time on the phone with the patient's pharmacy to get his correct medications in his pill packs and have the discontinued medications removed, as well as ensuring his new pill packs would be delivered to him in a timely manner, as this patient does not drive.
She also spent time personally with the patient helping him remove his discontinued medications from his pill pack, and explaining which medications, which he had in pill bottles with him, needed to be added. This took a significant amount of her time, and she displayed the utmost kindness and empathy.
