I have a cat who helps me. When I was admitted to the hospital, animal control had me surrender my cat. I knew I was sick but did not want to lose my cat. Once I started feeling better, I began to want to leave, and I was angry. Nurse Mary Frame talked to me, took me outside, and learned about my cat. She then called the Humane Society, checked on her, and printed me a picture of her, which gave me the strength to stay a little longer. She arranged for a social worker to help pay the re-homing fee. Then, when off duty, Nurse Mary helped get my cat and bring her to me. I know now I have friends at the VA and will always come here for my needs because of the good care given to me.
