A 20-year-old female patient was transferred from an outlying hospital to SAH, 7th floor Medical Oncology, for psychological issues and medical monitoring. When plans were being made to transfer to another facility, the patient verbalized to Grace that she was nervous and anxious about being transferred with no clothes. Grace took it upon herself to go shopping on her own time and purchased clothes with her own money. The patient felt that she was ready for discharge. Grace not only provided physical necessities, but also restored her sense of dignity at a vulnerable time, when she probably needed it most. While this is just one example, Grace consistently displays caring, patient-focused behaviors that truly makes a difference in those she serves.
