Nurse Mary sat down with me and explained what was going on and some of the courses of action that we were going to do—but she explained it to me so that I completely understood it. Mary took the time to show compassion and care (nursing time!) to get to know me a little bit, and she took the time. Those are the keywords: she took the time. …She showed me ways that I could improve my health in other ways, talked me through my medication that was being given, and she took the time again. I can’t emphasize that enough. Her compassion was clear; her concern was there. She definitely is an amazing nurse.
