The fellow staff member who nominated Mary said that as a resource nurse, Mary floats between several departments. She was called to start an IV on a child who was exceptionally scared and resisting the IV start. Rather than having someone hold the child down, further frightening him, she took the time to get the physician’s order for Versed and administered it, so that the patient could have the best experience possible.
