Mary Jane was our assigned nurse on our 4th day on the Post Partum Unit when we found out our newborn daughter was being transferred to the NICU for fever and weight loss. That morning we were packing up thinking we were headed home. Mary Jane was amazing on so many levels. From her knowledge, reassurance, support, and validation of our fears and worries- she just went above and beyond. She helped make arrangements for us to room in once I was discharged from the hospital and was even kind enough to bring me my medications while breastfeeding in the NICU. My husband and I were blown away by her kindness and I'm not sure what we would have done had she not been our nurse. When we also had some questions and concerns about the NICU, she listened to us, advocated for us, and helped to make sure we were heard. She reminded us that it is ok to ask questions about our care and made us feel at ease. I think it also says a lot that when we mentioned Mary Jane was our nurse to other staff, they all said, "Wow, we love Mary Jane!" So she is respected and liked by her peers as well. You have someone really special on your staff and we are so grateful that she was a part of our care team.
