Mary Jo embodies the values of compassion, dedication, and selflessness that make her an outstanding healthcare professional. Mary Jo consistently goes above and beyond her duties, demonstrating a genuine commitment to patient care. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it's assisting patients to the bathroom, bathing them, or simply picking up clutter to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. No task is too small or beneath her; she approaches each responsibility with kindness, empathy, and a smile.

As a leader, Mary Jo sets an exemplary standard for her colleagues. Her hands-on approach and willingness to work early and stay late inspire others to follow her lead. Her presence on the unit is a calming influence, and her dedication to patient care is evident in every interaction. I have had the privilege of working with Mary Jo, and I can attest to her exceptional qualities.

When I was feeling overwhelmed and considering leaving the unit, Mary Jo's kindness, understanding, and support made a significant impact on my decision to stay a little longer. Her compassion and empathy are a testament to her character and commitment to our patients and colleagues. Moreover, Mary Jo was there for me during a particularly challenging moment in my career, my first experience with a patient's passing. She provided emotional support, guidance, and reassurance, helping me navigate a difficult situation with care and compassion. Her presence and mentorship during that moment were invaluable, and I will always be grateful for her support.

As I reflect on Mary Jo's care and dedication, I am reminded of the healing ministry of Christ. In her actions, I see the values that guide our healthcare community: Love me: Mary Jo shows unconditional love and compassion to every patient, family member, and colleague she interacts with. Keep me safe: She prioritizes patient safety and well-being, ensuring that every individual under her care feels secure and supported.
