First, let me start by giving a big shout-out to Sentara Complex for hiring MK. She shows compassion and patience in any given situation. I was faced with dealing with another staff member, and things progressed to the point of me having to ask for a nurse change. I didn't know who the charge nurse was that day. Turns out it was MK. Being a young smart and happy go lucky attitude I thought this might be a tall request. The team member was older, but MK handled things very well and came to make sure all of my wife's needs were going to be met. We discussed the matter, and MK elevated the matter to a new supervisor, who came to see me the next day for a chat about what happened. Thanks to MK's actions, the rest of our stay for recovery went well.

MK is a leader with all the core values to prove it. She supports her team members and is quick to resolve any patient issues or problems; if she can't, she'll find someone who can. Relentless pursuit of patient satisfaction without looking for anything in return, but to make sure the patient and family are happy while they recover before going home.

We need more caregivers like MK. MK is the standard and she should be teaching others how live the Sentara Complex culture.

MK was checking often, besides the scheduled room visits, to ensure we were okay and didn't want for anything. She has a way of making you feel like you're her only patient, and we love that about her care style.
