The patient had just had an AICD placed continued to shock multiple times while the patient was awake. The patient said, "No one wanted to touch me, afraid to get shocked also. But Mary sat with me and held my hand, reassuring me I would be okay”. The patient was beyond thankful for that. He was even more thankful to tell her this in person the following day. Her compassion shows daily! It’s refreshing.
