I am honored to nominate Mary Kitchens for the DAISY Award. Mary exemplifies the qualities of a leader and mentor, consistently going above and beyond in her daily duties. She leads by example, always acting as a team player and often taking on roles such as break relief and preceptor. Her patience and kindness shine through as she explains her actions to colleagues, ensuring everyone understands and learns.

Mary’s dedication to her patients is unparalleled. She is always at the bedside, providing meticulous care that her patients rave about. Her attention to detail and compassionate approach make her a standout nurse.

Beyond her teamwork, Mary demonstrates remarkable initiative. She is a certified nurse, an active conference attendee, and a VON representative. She has also created two newsletters for Kaiser, promoting her colleagues’ work and fostering a sense of community.

Mary’s work is superb, creative, intelligent, and thoughtful. She is a natural leader who collaborates effectively with others while also excelling at delegating tasks and highlighting her colleagues’ talents. Her kindness and caring nature make her the epitome of a role model nurse.
