Our son R has been on 5 North with pneumonia. Mary has been his nurse for several days. R also has Down syndrome and is nonverbal. Mary has been so kind and helpful to our family in helping us deal with this stressful time in our lives. She talks directly to R and keeps him as comfortable as she can. She has also been helpful to us with information. I know Mary has been a nurse for a long time and definitely deserves this award!
