Mary understood that her patient was critically ill and had been in the ICU for quite some time. It was important for the patient to mobilize frequently. She knew he did not enjoy the normal "go for a walk." She and another nurse created a scavenger hunt for the patient to complete. It wasn't just the mobility that the patient received that was amazing, but the happiness it gave the patient and his mom. This gave him an opportunity to be a child again in a place that rarely allows that. The mom got to see her son be a kid again, if only for a short minute.
