Mary Lou Punt, RN

I witnessed an incredibly special experience between Mar Lou and her patient. Not only did Mary Lou come in on a day off just to be the nurse for this baby, she was the one holding this sweet baby as she passed. This baby was born anencephalic and the patient requested the least turnover possible in RNs. Mary Lou had such a loving bond with this family and offered to hold the baby so the parents could rest. That is the time she chose to pass. After the baby was gone and the family had some time with her, the mother came out of the room and said she just needed to hug Mary Lou. She thanked her for caring for them and holding her baby during that time. It was such a sweet moment I will never forget.
