Mary Lynn came to our unit a few years ago as a part-time evening nurse but quickly turned into a leader/role model as she took on role of PNP/UBG rep for our unit. We had recently lost our rep and no one wanted the job. She embraced the opportunity and it was a lot of work because we were full speed on our Magnet journey. She comes in on her days off for PNP, to lead UBG meetings and additionally, does a lot extra at home to prepare for our meetings and type up minutes. She keeps up our unit bulletin board, has participated in a quality improvement project/poster presentation for our unit and took an SBAR lead. If you need help, Mary Lynn is there. I feel she has not been recognized for all she does for our unit and I think the DAISY Award is something she deserves.
