Mary was nominated by her supervisor at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. Her supervisor applauded her compassion for an ailing patient on the psychiatric unit who required a lot of extra attention. The patient ended up taking the time to call the hospital after her discharge to thank Mary for her unparalleled assistance. The patient also spoke with Mary's supervisor stating, "I want to thank Mary personally for the excellent care she gave me. I know I was difficult at times, but Mary never gave up on me. I would like to thank her for that."
